While the Rochelle Kiwanis
Golden K serves the greater
Rochelle area, our focus is
 on the children of our
communities.

We support the following
programs in our local
and area public schools.

Serving The Community

A recent Rochelle News-Leader article noted that annual fundraisers by the Rochelle Kiwanis Golden K, such as this year’s Pancake Day at the Rochelle
United Methodist Church's Hicks Hall, help fund scholarships for Rochelle youth, as well as provide donations to a number of leading local organizations
that serve the greater Rochelle community.

Fundraisers such as Peanut Day, Pancake Day and Chili Day, are the means by which the Rochelle Kiwanis Golden K is able to develop funding that is
returned directly to the community as a whole, while focusing on the children and youth of the Rochelle area. In fact, last year, the Kiwanis Golden K of
Rochelle contributed over $11,000, earned through these fundraisers, back to the community. 100% of the monies collected through club fundraising is
returned to the greater Rochelle area. No such funds are used for internal expenses or club business. The club maintains a seperate operating budget for
internal expenses, the monies of which come from our members in the form of dues, weekly 50/50 raffles, a weekly Happy Basket and donations can.

Perhaps lesser known, is the fact that Rochelle Kiwanis Golden K has managed a number of special projects that have benefited as well as beautified the
community. Projects such as the Lake Sule pavilion shelter, flower boxes for the beautification of downtown Rochelle, organizing and sponsoring Kiwanis
Builders Club at Rochelle Middle School and Kiwanis Key Club at RTHS, the “BUGS” (Bringing up Grades) program for elementary grades, Spinoza Bear
and “Baby Jingles” for newborn babies, and recently, a new seating bench for use in downtown Rochelle – provide enrichment to the Rochelle area.
